The Swedish Society of Biomechanics was founded in 2018 with the core mission of advancing the study of biomechanics in Sweden and promoting collaboration among students, researchers and institutions. Embracing a broad perspective, the SSB recognizes the role of biomechanics in understanding biological systems in various disciplines. Since its founding, SSB has grown to consist of 229 members in 2023.

SSB Annual Conference 2025
Since the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB) 2025 congress will be held Sweden, we on the SSB Council see this as a good opportunity to highlight Swedish biomechanics research and to give the opportunity for biomechanists in Sweden to network with international experts. The SSB council has therefore decided to join the SSB 2025 with the ISB 2025 in 27-31 July in Stockholm. We still plan to maintain a clear SSB identity in the form of a social event, a general meeting, and hopefully best paper awards. We are discussing the possibility of a special session. We hope to see a large SSB presence at the ISB congress! The SSB Council seeks 1-3 SSB members to arrange the practical SSB events at the ISB 2025 congress. Please contact Joakim Holmberg (Linköping University) if you are interested!
